He thinks that I'm his girlfriend
Even though I have no wings.
The size difference doesn't faze him.
(He doesn't mind those sorts of things!!)
He likes to share my food with me--
He'll snatch whatever I'm eating!
I dare not punish him for his deeds
For he'll glare at me angrily tweeting...
Muffin is so very smart--
He thinks big parrots are overrated.
He even knows how to use his beak
To make paper perforated!
For Muffin thinks he has to chew
On everything I write;
My friends are accustomed to "Muffin marks"--
To them it's a usual sight.
Most kids will tell their teacher
That the dog ate their homework.
But my teacher knows the damage
Was a lovebird's dirty work!
He love to splash in the slippery sink
And hang out with me in the shower.
That bird in the mirror doesn't stand a chance
Against his mighty Muffin power!
Muffin likes to ride inside
The hood of my sweatshirt
And he's much better than a boyfriend--
(Lovebirds know how to flirt!)
One time when I was crying
He watched me quietly for a while.
But then he snuggled really close
And tried to make me smile.
Of all the special lovebirds
I think he's more special than the rest.
He's my little feathered love--
To me he'll always be the best.
