Pbirdie - 12th Place

Congratulations to Jennifer and Steven Ovaitte and their bird Pbirdie.

The best way to describe my lovebird is his personality. Each letter in his name describes something about him. P is for being so pleasant, B is for his beauty, I is for being irreplaceable, R is for his rambunctious behavior, D is for his daring actions, I is for inquisitive, and E is for how entertaining he can be.  Pbirdie is amusing and likes to get into trouble. He is totally honest with his feelings and does not hide anything.    The first day that I knew he was coming home I was very excited. I was working that day so my husband was the first to meet the bird.  I rushed home from work and as soon I walked into the room I was greeted.  He spotted me right away and came on my shoulder.  From that day forward he was my bird.  We fell in love with each other. He is so full of life and has a lot of love to give.  There are many things he loves to do especially get into mischief.   For such a small bird he has a big personality and has a lot to say.  Being one of the smallest of my gang he tries to go after the two bigger birds. He runs after them and tries to attack them.  He loves to cuddle, take baths, and is very playful.

He cuddles with us any chance he gets. It actually sounds like a purr or a snore when he gets comfortable. The cutest part of his cuddling is that he lays completely flat with his head down and closes his eyes.  Sometimes even while on our shoulder he put his head behind him.  He even goes to sleep his tent at night. He goes all the way and moves the tent around as if he's tiding up.

He loves to play especially with bells, mirrors and water. He especially loves water including taking baths whenever he can whether it is in bowls, measuring cups, the kitchen sink or in the palm of my hands.  He drinks from the faucet. When he hears the water running he gets very excited and vocal.  He loves ice cubes and tries to eat them from my drink.  A few times he has put his head in my glass and tries to grab the ice cubes out just so that he can drink the water from the melting ice.  Every chance that Pbirdie gets in contact with water he has to drink it and take baths.

Pbirdie can also be very mischievous and adventurous especially when he is either running away from me or playing in my stuff animals.  I usually have to chase him when he goes into the kitchen because he finds thing he has not suppose to have.  He likes to climb in my stuff animals and hide from me.  He will then come out from behind one of them as if he playing a game of peekaboo.

As described in the beginning my lovebird is so full of life and a little bundle of joy in my life.  He is such a great addition to my family.  We don't have any children of her own so Pbirdie and my other birds are my babies. I don't know what I would do without them in my life.
