Honorable Mention --> Most Inspiring

Jelly is owned by Kathy Greaser. Congratulations To Jelly and Kathy! Kathy can be contacted at kgkat@cox.net. Jelly is indeed a very special bird.

    Jelly is a very special bird. He never was trained to be a pet. He was bred to be a breeder but he wouldn't accept any female he was given. When he was set up for breeding he became an escape artist and would find his way all the way downstairs to his favorite person.

   His leg band got caught in a toy, I found him hanging lifeless when I got home from work; I thought he was dead. As I grabbed him to get him down from the toy he opened his eyes and chirped once. It was like he was telling me " I've been waiting for you to come get me out of here". He lost his leg due to that incident.

   He's everybody's best friend and will land on anyone's shoulder and talk to them but he won't let anyone grab him. He will cuddle with us for hours and sits on my husbands shoulder during any type of work project and give his chirping advice on how to get the job done.

   He will lay in my husband's hand on his back for hours for head scratches. If my husband's thumb stops petting he will gently nibble till he starts the petting again. The nibbles tend to get harder and harder if the petting doesn't start right away.

   Due to the loss of his leg he has to lay in special ways that are just sooooo cute. With only being able to send 2 pics naturally I couldn't show this but he looks like a little duck sitting on eggs.

   He's the lights of our lives and I can't imagine life without him. He's 11 years old now and I pray to have him another 11 or longer.
