Judge's Comments:
I thank the host club, Charlotte County Bird Club, for a great weekend in Florida. Great hotel on the water, $60 a night - what a deal! Also great weather. This show was the second day of the Great American doing the rares and eye rings. The rares we had six black-cheeked and one Madagascar, also nine green Fischer's type I, one yellow and five blue fischer's, four green masked and seven blue masked. A good variety of birds. The best in show was a green Fischer's owned by Holly Perez. It was a super bird and stood on the perch like a rock. A close second was a medium blue masked owned by Cube Snell. The bird had great lines.

Judge's Comments:
The top bench represents some fine conformationed birds. It's nice to see pieds of good quality and good condition after twenty many years when shows in Florida continued 35-0 at times. Whitefacd quality is to be commended added to violet of a conformationed bird to the standard. The Difficulty of getting the condition of a dark factor bird, the orangefaced olive, is also to be commended of the exhibitor. It is so nice to be able to view an American yellow pied that is of the quality to make top bench. Many years ago one line of American Yellow pieds always palced in Florida. The creamino was conditioned and had conformation written all over him. The whitefaced creamino was beautiful also. not to skp the Orangefaced Australian Cinnamon, conformation, condition and irridescence that Australian Cinnamons show refraction of light. The yellowfaced blue was conditioned well. The size of the unflighted bird was to be commended; wait until it grows up. |
