Judge's Comments:
It was an exciting day for love bird breeders in Florida. This was the first show they have had in a very long time. It resulted in 54 entries from 5 exhibitors with good quality birds. It is especially interesting to note that the winner of best novice, Debra Southworth from Cutler Ridge, also placed three birds in the top 10 and best unflighted.
Whilte rares, Fischer's and longfeathered sections were light in terms of number of birds, the other sections were all very strong and there were at least some birds in ALL sections. The pied and orangefaced sections were particularly good. There were no champions this day. These Florida breeders are to be congratulated for a good showing and a well organized show.
Due to the long period of not having a show in Florida, there were few experienced exhibitors available to help with the classification process and stewarding. It took some time to get the birds classified and ready for judging, but thanks to the hard work and dedication of people like Kathleen Hull, we were able to create a first class love bird division. Thanks and congratulations!
