Although this show was early in the show season, many of the birds looked good. There was a strong contingency of the East Coast exhibitors and eve Blake Ma from the Chicago area.

A very strong showing of 90 entries by 8 exhibitors. There was a good variety of species and mutations. A Black-cheeked was best in show. The bird exhibited the body shape I like to see in a Black-cheeked. It showed no impurities and showed very well. A very nicely conditioned Violet Green Peachfaced was in second. The bird had great color. A very nice Type II Fischer's was in third. Clean face, good condition, and well show trained. A Longfeathered Green was in fourth. This bird had good conformation and color and was decent size for a Longfeathered.

There were many other nice birds. It was refreshing to see exhibitors getting their birds ready this early in the year. The Bird Clubs of Virginia members were very hospitable and made the show a joy to attend.
